I've used this lens for years since I bought it for use with my N80. When digital came along, I continued to use it with very good results. It has two aspherical elements and one special low dispersion element which allow for sharp images in the digital age just as they did and continue to do with film. Since the N80, I've used this lens with my D70, D80, and D90 with always the same more than satisfactory results. One will always find critics of older lenses in view of the digitally adapted (whatever this really means) and digital only products, and in many instances they may be right. One might put this lens through all the current tests, etc., and I'm sure it might not measure up in the micro/digital arena. However as performance goes across the board, this old friend is one lens I will continue to use through the hail of new products and criticism.
